The First 21.7s is one of the most popular yachts ever made by Beneteau from the fantastic First cruiser/racer range and offers superb performance with an easy to handle sail plan and plenty of deck and cockpit space for 4 people. A bright and comfortable open plan layout inside with 1.5m headroom makes Obi-Wan a great day or weekend sailboat. Ideal for those dinghy sailors wanting to get into larger keelboats with a lot more comfort and no chance of capsize, or just plain fun for those who normally sail bigger boats.
The North Sails mainsail has a lazy bag for ease of use with single line reefing and the furling genoa, also by North Sails has vertical battens to improve performance. A very stiff yacht to sail due to the deep ballasted lifting keel she is a delight to handle even in strong winds. Basic depth and speed instruments with a Windex wind indicator on the mast to give plenty of feedback.
The cockpit is roomy with a self-draining transom next to the outboard engine and tiller.
Below decks there is an open plan saloon with a large forepeak double berth separated from the main saloon by a curtain. The galley is amidships with a single burner gas stove and a wash basin on the opposite side. Plenty of stowage in this area and in the long stowage nets, and also below the seats keeps the interior clutter free. There are two 2m long single berths either side of the companionway that are both comfortable and spacious.
The Beneteau First 21.7s is licensed with the SLDC and fully equipped with all the necessary domestic and safety inventory for a maximum of 4 people.
